International Culture Centre – ufaFabrik
The ufaFabrik’s International Cultural Center supports young modern culture and exchanges. It combines international and local cultures to create a dynamic atmosphere for active people.
Performing Arts Program
We offer visitors countless opportunities year-round for culture and recreation. The green oasis in the metropolis presents a wealth of stage acts, cabaret, music, and even Children’s Circus and family programs, which are enjoyed by the neighbors, urban socialites and culture seekers.
Two lovely, restored performing arts venues, which are multi-functional stages with 180 and 350 seats; as well as the covered summer stage, surrounded by green foliage, with 500 seats and catering.
Promoting modern young culture
The Culture Centre presents and supports the production of talented young artists and innovative, international acts. Additionally, the ufaFabrik provides the required workspaces, as well as stage setup, lighting, technical know-how and human resources at the disposal of artists, groups and clubs.
The team of the Culture Center arranges contacts with international educational programs, festivals, culture centers and institutions, advises the young artists and opens the way for them to the international arena.
Artists In-Residence
The in-house performers and artists Tuan Le and Daniel Reinsberg, the musicians of the Terra Brasilis samba group and the Children’s Circus School of the ufaCircus are known far beyond the borders of Europe and artistic exchanges are arranged for. The Culture Center offers German and international artistic groups who wish to become artists-in-residence multiple practice rooms, studios and guest rooms; altogether an exceptional setting for a creative period of concentration in the stimulating atmosphere of the Berlin metropolis.
Dress Rehearsal for the World of Tomorrow
Adhering to the motto, “Connect global – Act local” the Culture Centre maintains working partnerships with institutions worldwide. The ufaFabrik is active in helping to build international cultural networks: such as ResArtis, IETM and TransEuropeHalles.
New technologies are central to the co-operative projects with Netd@ys-Berlin. In co-operation with partners from Berlin and around Europe, these projects deal with creative experimentation in multi-media and information technologies.
The political term ‘sustainability’ describes not only fair trade for the worldwide protection of the environment, it also highlights the cultural responsibility of society in search of sustainable lifestyles and business practices.
A primary goal of the ufaFabrik since its inception has been supporting and inspiring an active participation with culture as a basis for the peaceful co-existence of all people.
