From its beginning the members of the ufaFabrik have been concerned with ecological issues.

In spite of the large number of visitors the area remains a reviving oasis in a major city thanks to its gardens, green roofs, independent energy sources and a rain walter-collecting system. The solar panel system produces enough electricity to supply the whole center! A permanent exhibition on the walls explains these and other projects to interested visitors and children.

The ufaFabrik eco-office works on the possibilites to create links between culture, ecology, economies and community and how to empower citizens to take part in the development of their urban surroundings.
