Eine Einführung in den großen Theatermythos

 

Von und mit dem Künstlerduo des Teatro Strappato 

 

Von je her fasziniert den Menschen das Spiel mit Masken und das ist einem unerwarteten Phänomen geschuldet:

Wenn Du einer Person die Kleider nimmst, siehst Du den Körper, wenn Du ihr eine

Maske auf das Gesicht setzt, erkennst Du die Seele.

Aus diesem Grund finden sich in fast allen Kulturen sakrale Objekte, ebenso wie bei uns im Theater, in dem die Charakterer mit bekleideten Körpern und nackten Seelen erscheinen.

Die Reise eine Maske herzustellen ist die eines Handwerkers, ebenso wie die eines Schauspielers.

Der Handwerker entwirft und baut die Maske, der Schauspieler erweckt sie zum Leben.

 

Teatro Strappato arbeitet mit den physisch-theatralen Ausdrucksmöglichkeiten und deren Veränderung während der Entstehung eines Charakters. Durch diese Arbeitstechnik wird der Teilnehmer an die grundlegenden Archetypen und die theatralen Elemente der "Commedia dell 'Arte" herangeführt.

Die wichtigste Aufgabe, die wir im Umgang mit Masken lernen werden ist, dass die eigentliche Kunst des Schauspielers genau hinter Maske liegt, in dem Bestreben etwas zum Leben zu erwecken, das allein in unserer Vorstellung existiert. 

 

Hinter der Maske liegt die eigentliche Arbeit des Schauspielers, in dem er Bewegungen entwickelt, 

die einen Charakter schaffen, der die Maske zum Leben erweckt.

 

In diesem Workshop bieten wir eine Spieltechnik an, die wir eine historisch- anthropologische Wiederherstellung von Charakteren der Commedia dell’Arte nennen und die es erlaubt, den Teilnehmern den Gebrauch der Maske und die neun grundlegenden Archetypen der Commedia dell’Arte vorzustellen.

An introduction to the great theatrical myth

A Workshop held by the two artists from the international touring Teatro Strappato

The use of the mask has fascinated mankind since the early days, this is due to a phenomenon as strange as it is unexpected: when you undress a person you see only the body, when you put a mask you see the soul. For this reason, they are sacred objects in almost all cultures and they are sacred also in our theatre, in which the characters come into scene with the body covered and the soul naked. The journey that leads us to the mask is a craftsman’s journey in all senses, both in the acting aspect when it is given it's use and in the aspect of craftsmanship, when designing and creating it.

Teatro Strappato works on the physical theatre and the grotesque deformation for the construction of the character. Through this technique, the participants will approach the fundamental archetypes and the theatrical principles of "Commedia dell 'Arte".
The most important lesson we have to learn by working with masks is that the true art of the actor is precisely "behind the mask", in his effort to make something that exists only in our imagination come to life, and that we really need only one thing to make theatre: the actor's body.

"Behind the Mask" is the work of an actor who has to develop a technique of movement and construction of the character that gives life to this powerful object. In this workshop we propose a technique called "historical-anthropological reconstruction of the characters of "Commedia dell'Arte" that allows us to introduce participants to the use of the mask, following the fundamental principles of interpretation of the 9 basic archetypes of "Commedia dell 'Art".
